Day Camp was FUN!

Archery was FUNNER!

And Aquatics was COOL!

900 boys attended the Saddleback District Day Camp 2000! Over 600 adults volunteered as Camp Counselors, 300 students (boys and girls) volunteered as Youth Staff and the Sibling Tot Lot had 250 registered tots! That’s one big Day Camp!!

Camp was held at O’neil Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon the week of June 26 – 30. Boys entering the fourth and fifth grades (fall 2000) attended the Webelos Camp and those entering the second and third grades next fall, attended the Cub Camp. Each Camp had two sessions, a morning and a twilight session.

The Webelos were treated to a pair of man-made lakes (thanks Jim Currie, Jon Lagerquist and George Cravens!) and learned lots of boating skills! Wolfs and Bears were especially excited this year about the Moon Buggie Races held on Wednesday and Friday (thanks Greg Hennessey).
