We need Rangemasters and Youth Volunteers to staff the Saddleback Day Camp Archery Range.
Requirements (training and such) are listed below.
This is a great opportunity to give back and help out the younger scouts while earning service hours
(and possibly the Archery Merit Badge or Girl Scout Archery Interest Badge).

Youth and Adult Range staff
- Adult Rangemasters
To serve as an Adult Rangemaster range you must:
- Fill out an
Adult Volunteer Staff registration form online
and turn in the hard copy of the
medical form
including a copy of both sides of your insurance card before May 11, 2019.
Be sure select the Staff option and to write in the notes area that you will be a range master.
And complete the form on this page.
- When you register online pay $20 to cover the cost of the meals for staff at camp.
- Be certified as a BSA Rangemaster or as an NAA Level 1 or above coach.
For those who need to take or renew their BSA Rangemaster card, we will be doing adult archery training on June 9.

If you have a valid BSA Rangemaster or NAA Level 1 or above certification,
you do not need to attend an archery specific training session although refresher courses never hurt.
- In addition to the archery specific training, you will be required to attend one of the Staff Training sessions on either June 1 or June 8.
(Check the Day Camp web site for dates, times, and locations).
- Youth Volunteers
To serve as a Youth Volunteer on the archery range you must:
Youth Volunteer registration form online
and turn in the hard copy of the
medical form
including a copy of both sides of your insurance card before May 11, 2019.
As part of registration you will pay $20 to cover the cost of meals at camp.
Be sure to write in the notes area that you want to work on the archery range.
You also need to sign up on this site as well.
- Work all 5 days.
- You MUST attend an archery specific training session even if you attended one last year.
We will be doing archery training sessions on June 2 or June 8 (2 opportunities).

- In addition to the archery specific training, you will be required to attend
1 of the mandatory Youth Training sessions on either June 5 or 8.
(Check the Day Camp web site for dates, times, and locations).
- For Youth Volunteers who work the archery range, we will also be offering
BSA Merit Badge and GSA Archery Interest Badge classes for those that are interested.
To participate in these classes, you will also need to assist with camp setup and take down.

- Also, all forms must be filled out by the youth who are volunteering (parents, you know what this means).
We look forward each year to watching our young men and women mature through
their experiences so let them take the responsibility and grow from it.
As for those on the BSA Merit Badge track -
all communications from parents will be automatically routed to my trash bin.
- All Volunteers
- Go online and
fill out the registration form.
- Submit the
medical form and a copy of both sides of your insurance card
(via your troop, pack or directly at a District
Roundtable).
- For adults and youth payment for meals ($20 for the week) is part of the online registaration process.
- On or after April 1st, come back to the web site and fill out the
Archery Volunteer form (the link will go live on April 1, 2019)
to get confirmed on the archery crew.
- Attend an archery specific training session.
- Attend a Youth or Adult training session.
- For BSA Merit Badge and GSA Archery Interest Badge, attend one of the workshops on either June 2 or 8.
- Help with setup on June 15.
- Attend range staff orientation on June 16.
- Help with take down on June 22.
